Momentum 2012 – Day 2 – 9:30am seminar

10 Oct

Ok, so after a couple of weeks of being away from this I have finally returned to my blogging of this year’s Momentum. This blog is about the seminar by Danielle Strickland on Chaotic Order

Danielle Started off by asking a very basic question: Is God a God of order? The simple answer is: Yes!

However, the question then has to be asked: What is God’s order like? Not like building a house, Danielle says, where you start at the bottom, and work your way up. She makes the point that God is NOT like us!

We can do all we can to help, but God is the one that does it in the end. God is at work, not us!

Danielle then says that she is going to look at God’s order through the eyes of the story of creation.

She makes the comparison between Creation and the Early Church. On day 1 God made light, on day 1 God sent the Holy Spirit as fire. God spoke and the world came into being, Peter spoke and the Church gained 3000 on the first day.

Danielle told us that chaos is where we are not in control. However, we must decrease so He can increase. When we submit ourselves to God we submit ourselves to personal chaos which is God’s order. Don’t be afraid of the chaos!

The first thing that God brings is light. Light is revelation. Before light nothing could be seen, but after it things become visible!

The second thing that God brings is expanse. God makes things bigger! Sin makes our world smaller.
